Welcome to the website for NAMGAR's 2008 Get Together to be held in Seven Springs, Pennsylvania.

We've set up a group tour of Fallingwater, if you haven't yet registered for GT-33 (what are you waiting for?) there is a line on the registration form (both the online and the mail in form) to indicate how many tickets  you'd like. Tickets are $15, and the tour will be Tuesday, July 15th starting at around 10:30am. Go to the Registration page to find links to both the online and mail in registrations forms.

GT-33 will offer a wide range of activities for all to enjoy. There will be something for racing enthusiasts, twin cam followers, originality specialists, and Altered A addicts. If you're into American history, the surrounding area is abundant. If it's golf that strokes your fancy, or just soaking in the atmosphere of a huge pool, come to Seven Springs Resort and you'll "Experience the Magic of GT-33!"

If you are into vintage racing, you may wish to make plans to take in the Historic Races at BeaveRun, just north of Pittsburgh on Saturday, July 12th and Sunday, July 13th.

GT-33 will begin as you arrive at Seven Springs on Monday, July 14th with a celebration of the MGA Twin Cam's introduction. This 50th year reenactment at noon promises to be a very entertaining, as well as educational event. A fantastic luncheon will be served following the reenactment. Plan your vacation to include this historic event!

On Tuesday, July 15th, NAMGAR will offer an "On-Your-Own Day." This day will give everyone a chance to unwind from their long drive in, or to clean and detail their car for the upcoming show! Others will enjoy on-your-own tours provided by the Greater Pittsburgh MG Club. Choose to visit nearby Fallingwater, or Kentuck Knob, two of the Frank Lloyd Wright designed homes in the area, or a tour of covered bridges, or many other scenic and historic sites in the area. Many will choose to head north along the scenic backroads to the quaint little town of Ligonier, PA. While there, visit the many shops and historic locations, including Fort Ligonier. Dine on the way back at one of several choice locations. Be back in time for the afternoon tech sessions and vendor displays, though! Look to our Local Info page for more info on the many things to do in the Seven Springs area. If you're considering a trip to Fallingwater as part of your GT-33 experience please note that Fallingwater has been featured in the January 2008 edition of Smithsonian magazine, so reservations may be in more demand than usual. Again, see the Fallingwater entry on our Local Info page for more information. Another source of information on things to do in the Seven Springs area is the Laurel Highlands website.

NAMGAR has developed an unofficial phrase of, "It's the cars that get you there, but it's the people that bring you back." If this is your first time attending a GT, we sincerely invite you to attend the First Timer's Reception on Tuesday afternoon and find out why this motto rings true.

All participants are invited to attend the Tuesday evening Mountain-Style Barbecue! Enjoy grilled sirloin steak, barbecued chicken, spareribs, corn-on-the-cob and redskin potatoes all cooked over an open pit, plus a complete salad and dessert table. Seven Springs is famous for its desserts!

On Wednesday, you will have the opportunity to participate in the North American MGA Register's Annual Car Show. This show will astound you with the MGA's Magnettes, Variants, and other British vehicles that will be on display. Talk to owners to learn how they accomplished a challenging repair that lies ahead for you. Take photos and see what exterior and interior colors you like for that MG project that you're sure to get back on as soon as you return home! Just make sure you take time to vote for one car in each class!

NAMGAR is compiling quite an impressive list of speakers for tech sessions during GT-33, including a very important tech session on MGA originality. If you're into maintaining an original MGA, or restoring one to it's former glory, this is a tech session you won't want to miss!

And for those into making their MGA a bit more suitable to their individual needs, NAMGAR has something for you as well! How about an Altered A tech session? See and learn how others have found ways to make the MGA a bit more "personalized." I know I'll have a front row seat for this session. And, if you haven't already gotten yours, you may earn an elite, "I took the Tom Ball Tour" badge!

George Kress and his Pittsburgh team are creating the GT-33 road rally. This promises to be a very fun, yet challenging driver/navigator event. No past experience is necessary, so all are invited to participate. Plus, you'll see some breathtaking scenery. . . .and if you don't follow those directions carefully, you may experience even more scenery than others! ! ! A stop along the way will give you a chance to enjoy a very nice catered lunch at a very modest price, and an optional winery tour. From what George has told me, this will be a really cool place to visit. I just hope I don't get lost on the way! ! !

Thursday evening will culminate with the NAMGAR Awards Banquet. Following a mouthwatering choice of dinners to include your choice of, Chicken Cordon Bleu, consisting of a boneless breast of chicken stuffed with white cheddar cheese and imported ham, lightly breaded and sauteed until golden, or maybe you prefer a carefully aged prime rib, cut with a heavy hand and roasted to perfection and served au jus, or maybe a herb roasted salmon filet, or a vegetarian specialty. Whichever choice you make, save room for the Seven Springs deserts, all made fresh right on location! Of course this will be where we find out who the winners are, and I'm betting it will be everyone who attends!

Make sure you stop by for complimentary coffee, pastries, and warm farewells on Friday morning. Many of you will begin your journey home, and others will take advantage of the nearby Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, and accompanying events that will carry through the weekend.

Other activities and options during GT-33 include our famous shopper's rally, swimming, hiking, mountain activities, golfing, spas and massages, and tennis. Of course, vendors will be present along with tech session speakers, and evening entertainment. Seven Springs Resort often brings in big name performers, and I have notified them that we might be interested in attending such an event. So, there may be something very special that pops up as we get closer to Showtime!

Should you need further assistance, please feel free to write Carol or myself at Info@GT-33.com, or phone (804) 264-8551. We truly look forward to seeing you at Seven Springs Resort in July.

Sincerely,
Bruce Woodson
